The Southern Royal Palace at
Pakpanang District, Nakorn Srithummarat.
Since the Southern people are grateful
in the King’s activities to develop Pakpanang district for
irrigation, people put all their effort to build this pavilion
to be an accommodation for the King when he come to the
South. The Royal Palace consists of the houses for the King
and the Queen and the royal members, the throne hall, dinning
hall and accommodation for officers and fellows.
The royal palace located by the river displays the traditional
Southern style house for its unique “Branor-roof” and the
decoration of the navy blue roof, representing the color
of the King. It is important to take into account the proper
architecture for the King, such as, elegance and luxury,
safety, functions of the building. Moreover it should suite
with the climate, geography and environment.
